The dragon was fully sound asleep, but the loud breaths from its nose blew an almost freezing cold air that sent shivers down everyone’s spine.

“Is she an ice dragon?” Noah whispered, trying to guess the sleeping dragon’s identity.

In the meantime, Hiro very carefully approached the dragon to have a closer look at it. He wanted to check in a more detailed manner before the dragon woke up and they all had to fight it.

At a noticeably close distance, Hiro could see that the dragon’s wings were hiding something underneath them; something akin to mini elongated stone statues.

Hiro recognized them. Those stone statues were shaped like several small people he recognized as members of the dwarf bloodline.

This dragon was indeed the one mentioned in the fairytale book he read.

Even so, Hiro doubted that he would be able to defeat it. Not only was the gap between their levels too large, but his opponent was an enormous dragon. Even if Hiro united with his friends, they would only be the size of the dragon’s sole.

He continued to think. If he failed to think of a way to fight it, he would cause the four people willing to help him to get killed outside the safe zone, something that greatly burdened him at the moment.

“What are you looking for? Why don’t we just do it?” Noah was already prepared with his Mystic Tome floating low in front of him. He was more than confident.

But he was right. They couldn’t afford to wait for the dragon to sleep forever.

“Prepare your weapons.” Hiro began to arrange a strategy.

Wheelie was the weakest among them, so she had to maintain a safe distance to avoid getting hit by the dragon’s attacks. But aside from that, a cleric’s all attribute buff was largely necessary here, especially DEF, ATK, ASPD, and ACC buffs.

A cleric also had to know how to cast healing spells at the right time, but for this one, Noah could also do it for the party.

Hiro didn’t worry about healing as two of his party members had the skill. What he worried about most was the unknown skills of the dragon in front of him. If it had an instant skill, he wouldn’t be able to save anyone, not even himself.

“Cleric, do you have the Holy Expansion skill?”

Noah’s question made Hiro curious. Holy Expansion? Was there a skill like that for clerics?

“Um… I’m sorry, Holy Expansion is too expensive. 3,500 LSC, I really have no money to buy it.” Wheelie looked down and averted her gaze to the side. She felt guilty.

“Tch. Useless. NightFall, why do you always choose useless people?” Noah grumbled.

Yet despite his words, he flipped the page of his Mystic Tome and did something for them before they truly begin their attack.

“The greatest high priest, lend me your power to banish the darkness.”

[Holy Spirit]

Zzziing!

Five bright orbs of lights suddenly appeared from the Mystic Tome page. The five orbs then darted toward Hiro and the others so swiftly that they didn’t have time to react.

When the light entered their bodies, Hiro was the only one who felt a side effect of discomfort, causing him to reflexively bend his body down a little. He felt as if his body was being burned by fervent, yet invisible flames.

“What did you do?” Jacob became worried when he saw Hiro stagger until he kneeled on the ground.

“It’s fine, Jacob. He did what had to be done.”

Hiro understood. The magic spell Noah just cast was a spell used to change the damage attribute of their party into the holy attribute, an element crucial to use against demonic creatures like the dragon in front of them.

“If we had used Holy Expansion instead, he wouldn’t be in pain,” Noah indifferently explained.

After getting used to the burning heat, Hiro forced himself to stand back up and take out his greatsword.

“Jacob and I will attack from the front. Cara, attack from behind. Noah, keep your safe distance. Wheelie, don’t lose focus. Got it?”

“Yes!”

“Roger that!”

“Aye!”

“Let’s go, Jacob!”

Hiro and Jacob ran toward the sleeping dragon’s head at the same rhythm and began to attack. As the tank of the party, Jacob landed the first blow to attract the dragon’s attention to make himself the target of its attacks.

Clank!

Jacob’s blade was deflected when he slashed at the dragon’s hard muzzle. It didn’t manage to inflict any damage, but it successfully caused the dragon’s sapphire blue eyes to open.

Roarrr!

The dragon instantly opened its mouth to spray cold air that could freeze anything in front of it.

Jacob and Hiro dodged at the perfect time just before they got hit by the freezing air.

“Attack!”

Splat!

Hiro jumped and slashed at full speed. The speed buff from the cleric increased his speed a little.

His target was the front-right side of the dragon.

Meanwhile, the dragon’s head was facing Jacob, who just used his Provoke skill at it. Jacob had improved very far compared to when they first met. He no longer stood with shaking legs.

Whoosh!

Splashhh!

Noah shot a water bomb. The moment it hit the dragon’s body, the water bomb exploded with boiling water.

“Watch your spells, Noah!” Jacob, who also got splashed with the hot water a little, felt bothered.

Even so, Noah didn’t pay him any mind and continued to shoot the same spell.

In the meantime at the lower side of the dragon’s left wing, Cara was moving exceptionally swiftly with two daggers in her hands, inflicting painful wounds on that side.

Despite having done the same thing for over 10 minutes now, her speed hadn’t diminished at all.

Hiro observed the dragon’s movements. It could use its tail and two front feet to deal physical damage to him and Jacob, who continued to attempt to deal significant damage to the dragon.

Wheelie’s accuracy buff greatly helped them not miss their attacks even though the level gap between them and the dragon was truly significant.

After a pause of thirty seconds, the dragon would spray a breath of cold air that would turn anything it touched into ice. Jacob, who was in front of it, had almost become frozen several times in a row now. His hands and legs were even frozen a few times, but Noah immediately shot hot water bombs until the ice melted.

Their party was very synced. Moreover, Hiro didn’t expect that Noah would pay attention to the others’ conditions so much. It wasn’t just Jacob who changed to become stronger and braver, but Noah also became more caring.

“Let’s go, Blood Eater!”

Right when the dragon opened its mouth to spray cold air, Hiro’s blade emitted a purple metallic light following his will to use the greatsword’s unique skill. He had to time the skill properly so it wouldn’t miss.

Splat!

[Absorbing opponent’s HP]

Ding!

[Boss HP has been revealed]

Hiro smiled when he saw the incoming notification. His plan worked.

However, before he could see the number of HP the boss had, the dragon suddenly flapped its wings very rapidly and powerfully, sending the three who were attacking at a very close distance flying backward.

And that wasn’t all. Before they could stand back up, tens of ice spears came out from under the dragon’s wing membrane.
